Broccoli Season – Yes, Please!

 

What is better than making and sharing a recipe with people you love? After looking up the veggie seasons here in South Florida we have found that it is BROCCOLI SEASON! Broccoli provides TONS of calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc! All in one delicious serving!

 

Today we are going to spice up your average broccoli salad recipe with some other fresh veggies and other delicious ingredients! Imagine serving this up to a room full of your favorite people in a beautiful home that you are proud of! This salad takes just 15 minutes to prepare! • ½ pound bacon
• 2 heads fresh broccoli
• 1 small red onion
• ¾ cup raisins
• ¾ cup sliced almonds
• 1 cup mayonnaise
• ½ cup white sugar
• 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

Directions:

 

1. Place bacon in a deep skillet and cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown, 7 to 10 minutes. Cool and crumble.
2. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces and cut the onion into thin bite-sized slices. Combine with the bacon, raisins, and almonds and mix well.
3. To prepare the dressing, mix the mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar together until smooth. Stir into the salad.
4. Let chill before serving, if desired. (We recommend!)
